Just Peachy!

I've noticed this spring that almost every makeup company came out with their peachy coral version of eyeshadows. Too Faced Sweet Peach palette came out last year, then Colourpop brought out their nectar collection and it seems like peach and coral shades are becoming more popular not just for the lips, but also for the eyes. I am a true lover of peach and orange shades, so I wanted to share one of my favorite makeup looks - which I call peachy makeup. Even thought it's more orange peach.

I started my eye makeup with eyeshadow primer and a bone colored matte shade. For the crease I used light warm brown. Then I added warmth with a yellow toned matte brown. In the outer corners I deepened it with warm redish medium matte brown.

On the outer part of the lid I used copper orange shimmery shade. On the inner part of the lid I used slightly lighter and more yellow toned peach shimmery shade. For the inner corners I also used peach toned shimmery shade, but a very light one. I did my usual winged liner with a liquid pen liner.

I applied mascara on the lashed and added natural looking false lashes to give this look a bit more depth, as all the shadows are quite light and monochromatic.

On my face I used a mix of foundation and BB cream and concealed with a concealer. I also used powder to lock it in and make it look a bit more matte. For the bronzer I used a warm toned shade with natural looking sheen. I also highlighted with a champagne gold highlighter. As a blush I used shimmery orange peach shade that complimented my eye makeup the best.

Because this is a very monochromatic look focusing on peach orange shades, I also used a peach toned lipstick. Firstly I used a very light pastel peach lip liner and because it was almost a bit too light for my skin tone, I went over with a matte light peachy liquid lipstick.

I love monochromatic looks. In my opinion you can always look well put together if you use shades from the same family. Peachy orange is my favorite color and I love it as a blush, eyeshadow or lipstick. To combine it all in one, makes it even better.

Festival Makeup (Gold and Blue)

Warmer days are here and so is the festival season. I don't plan on going any, but I am always up for fun and sparkly makeup looks. In this look I've tried to combine all the latest trends that I've been seeing. I actually love how it turned out. Pop of blue eyeliner matches so well with gold details and yellow nail polish that I currently wear.

Eye makeup is very simple and kind of neutral. The big pop of color comes only from the winged blue liner. I started by applying eye primer and setting it with a matte bone colored shadow. I used light warm matte brown in the crease to make it easier to blend out other shades. Then I made it even warmer with a matte yellow toned brown shade. On the lid I applied shimmery yellow gold.

I used a bit of slightly darker matte brown and deepened the very outer corner of the eye to give me some more definition. My eyes can look quite flat otherwise. I used metallic bright blue liner to give this look the needed pop of color. Around lower lash line I applies the same matte browns for subtle definition and then went in with mascara on top lashes. In the inner corners I used yellow golden shimmery highlight.

I used natural looking lashes that gave me a bit more of that length that I don't have and a slight change in volume.

On my face I applied foundation first and then concealed anything that needed to be concealed. I decided to draw on fake freckles, because these are quite popular right now and I love how cute and youthful this makes me look. I have a few of my own, but usually more in the summer. For that I used my usual grey toned eyebrow pencil. I powdered over them, to make them appear more natural and part of the skin.

If you'll be going to festivals, you can't forget about highlight. It's definitely one of the excuse situations when you can go crazy with it. You'll probably sweat it all off anyway. I went for a really glowy yellow gold highlighter. I also used a more champagne version on the highest point of highlight. I highlighted tops of cheeks, above the brow, down the nose and on the upper lip. I also bronzed up my skin with a luminous bronzer and didn't apply any blush. I just wanted the skin to look bronzed and glowy.

For the fun element that made this look so much more enjoyable, I used gold flash tattoos. Stars, to be exact. Apparently star stickers are also very popular right now. As I didn't have any normal stickers, I just went in with flash tattoos. You can always remove them with oil based cleanser. I also used creamy golden shimmery shadow to apply it all over the stars for that fairy dust effect and an additional highlight.

On my lips I used a mix of nude and slightly peachy lip liner for a matte nude look. I also used gold eyeliner and put it on top of the upper lip as a super highlight.

I felt like this shimmery dreamy look needed wavy hair, as it makes it look more romantic. If you'll be rocking similar look to any upcoming festivals, don't forget to highlight your collar bone and shoulders. It brings the look together.

I should do these dreamy looks more often. It's so fun to create and glitter always makes my day. What do you think about this look? Will you be going to any festivals this year?

Classic Smoky Eye Turns Glossy

Something a bit different today and a bit away from my usual light looks. I wanted to create a classic black smoky eye, but then I turned it into a glossy smoky eye at the end. First version is wearable, at least for special occasions, the second one may not be so much, but I loved how it looks.

I started my eye makeup with eye primer and bone colored matte shade all over the lid. I always define my crease with a light matte brown first, to make other shades blend easier. Then I added a darker neutral matte brown. I also wanted to put a bit warmer matte burgundy shade into the crease, to blend it well with red lipstick that I paired this look with.

Then I added matte black shade on the mobile lid part and I went back with the burgundy shade to blend these two together. To make my lash line darker, I added soft black pencil as an eyeliner and blended it out with a pencil brush. I also tightlined to make my lashes appear even darker. I used the same matte shades around the lower lash line, but skipped the black pencil. It can sometimes make my eyes smaller and I wanted to avoid that. I also applied a light coat of mascara.

For this look I used natural looking false eyelashes that gave me more volume and length. I also added shimmery champagne gold highlighter on the inner corners.

On my face I used foundation, concealer and a bit of powder. Be sure to conceal under the eyes, because you don't want that fallen eyeshadow to give you dark circles. I also warmed up my face with bronzer and added shimmery highlighter. For the blush I used light mauve shade.

On my lips I firstly applied matte mauve lipstick and then went over it with a creamier dark red shade. I wanted this particular warm dark red, but I needed a colorful base, because this one on its own is not as opaque. Matte liquid lipstick in dark red shades would work great with this look.

I've been seeing glossy lids in editorials and I really wanted to try it out. I took glossy cream and applied it on the center of the lid. You could essentially use thicker transparent lip gloss. Obviously this is not a wearable look to wear on daily basis, because the gloss messes up eyeshadow. It's more of an editorial look for fashion shoots, but I loved how grungy and undone this looked.

I almost never wear such dark smoky eyes, because to be honest, I don't have an occasion to wear it to. I'm not exactly party type. But I know some that swear by these classic smoky eyes. I loved it glossier even better, because it looked so different. Unfortunately it's not wearable otherwise I would rock it for sure.

What do you think about this look? Do you ever wear black smoky eye and would you wear the glossy version?

Natural Mauve

I love the neutral brownish mauve look that Ariana Grande usually wears and it seems to be her staple. When I saw her video for Everyday (which is probably the most low budget video ever), I couldn't help but watch her makeup. Mauve is usually more reserved for fall time and to me it looks cool toned, but I still wanted to make an inspired look by that video. Turns out mauve is quite a neutral shade that works on cooler and warmer skin tones. It's a very natural look with that mauve haze to it.

I started my eye makeup with eyeshadow primer and I set it with beige matte color. For the crease I first used a very light matte warm brown. Then I used slightly darker and cooler matte brown. On the lid I used a mixture of light mauve and an even lighter lavender shade. This eye look is all about matte shades that give you that subtle mauve haze.

I drew winged black liner that Ariana also seems to wear often. Then I applied light matte beige in the inner corners to slightly brighten them up. On the bottom lash line I used the same browns and mauves. I also applied mascara and half lashes that wing out at the ends. With these lashes you'll add a bit of volume, but it will still be very natural and it will accentuate winged liner shape.

Ariana seems to prefer a more matte looking skin, so I used slightly higher coverage foundation and powdered it down. I also used a bit of very light bronzer to warm up my skin tone. For highlighter I used light powder with subtle sheen. Nothing too glowy for this look. I used dirty mauve blush to compliment the rest of the makeup.

Her lips always look browner on the outside and more mauve pink on the inner part. So I mixed mauve brown shade with a light mauve shade on top. I also used nude lip liner underneath to slightly overdraw my lip line. I rounded out my Cupid's bow, because she usually does the same.

Natural light was running out of my room, so I didn't have much time to recreate her two buns, but I tried my best. It looked like she had french braids and then put them into two buns. I obviously don't have hair extensions and my hair has no volume, so I did my best with what I have.

Colorful Spring Makeup

I've always had a thing for certain color combinations. One of those is green and purple. These two colors seem to compliment each other well and since I usually just go for colorful eyes or lips, I decided to go for colorful both, lips and eyes. It's again wearable look that I love wearing, but with a bit more color.

I started my eye makeup by applying eyeshadow primer and set it with bone colored matte shade. Then I used very light warm matte brown and put it in the crease. I further deepened it with a neutral medium matte brown shade. On the lid I applied light shimmery yellow green shade.

Over it on the very center I applied duo chrome copper shade with golden green shine. I used black pen liner and created a wing. Then I went over it with a matte black shadow and tried to make it look softer and less shiny. I used the same browns around the lower lash line to give me some definition.

On the inner corner I applied shimmery light champagne gold highlighter. I used volumizing mascara on the top lashes and a more defining one on the lower lashes. The whole look actually looks very golden green, because I wanted to choose warmer greens.

On my face I mixed BB cream with foundation. I also concealed and powdered with a more natural finish powder. I used bronzer to warm up my skin tone around the edges of my face. For the blush I used neutral light brownish peach color. I also highlighted with a champagne gold highlighter.

What makes this look bolder, is that bright fuchsia lipstick. I love how it compliments green eyelids.
